About us

As the evening unfolds and the sun sinks into oblivion, be aware of the creatures of the night.

Enjoy your stroll through the Dark Parks.

Ryan Parks has been in the rare bookselling business since 1993 when he started his career working for his mother, who owned a used book shop in Southern California for many years.

In the year 2000, Ryan was hired as a sales assistant and shipping manager at the well respected antiquarian bookselling firm Krown & Spellman, Booksellers in Culver City, California. Soon after, he became chief rare book cataloguer and bibliographic specialist. In 2008, Ryan was promoted to manager of the shop and took on the additional responsibilities of acquisitions, appraisals, and all clientele relations (including public and private institutions, auction houses and colleagues). He remained as head manager until Krown & Spellman closed it's doors for retirement in late 2014 and Ryan launched his life long collection into the business Dark Parks.

Dark Parks specializes in early printed books and illustrations dealing with curious subject matters in English Literature, Occult, Religion, Science, and other areas of fascinating and unusual history. We also have a strong emphasis on modern rare books, autographs, film posters, and original artwork in the genres of Horror, Science Fiction, and Fantasy.
