Romero, George A.

Day of the Dead George A. Romero Signed Screenplay Script. New York: Laurel Ent., 1984. Original screenplay for Day of the Dead. Xerox second version of the first draft. Bound in vinyl wraps with plastic post spine. Near fine. Large signature in red ink on title page inscribed “Stay Sacred! George A Romero”. A fantastic autographed piece for the die hard horror film fan. Title page also with a 13 circled in ink at top corner likely the number of a crew or cast member.  George A. Romero (1940-2017), American film director writer and producer best known for his contributions to the horror movie genre including the breakthrough zombie film Night of the Living Dead in 1968 and its trilogy [Dawn of the Dead in 1978 and Day of the Dead in 1985]. Three other Dead films followed twenty years later. In 1981 Romero began a long-term relationship with Stephen King and made several movies and tv programs together.  Day of the Dead (1985) a post-apocalyptic zombie horror film was written & directed by Romero and produced by Richard P. Rubinstein. It was the third and last of the original Night of the Living Dead series - until  twenty years later when Romero released Land of the Dead. Day of the Dead starred Lori Cardille, Terry Alexander, Jospeh Pilato, Jarlath Conroy & Richard Liberty. Romero described the film as a “tragedy about how a lack of human communication causes chaos and collapse even in this small little pie slice of society”. Romero deemed Day of the Dead to be his personal favorite film in the original Dead trilogy. The title page of this script has been signed by Romero with his tradiltional slogan “Stay Scared!
